What is Shopify historical sync?
Once you have integrated your Shopify store with Freshmarketer, Shopify historical sync allows you to automatically sync all previous customer data and your product portfolio from your Shopify store to Freshmarketer.

Note: Real-time sync of the contacts and products starts immediately after the app installation. Order events sync will begin only after the contacts are synced. Once you sync the contacts and the products from your Shopify store, you can see the sync status. You can see how many contacts and products are successfully synced and how many contacts and products are skipped. Based on the number of products that you have the sync time will vary.

What happens if some of the contacts and products are not synced due to any error?

Let’s say, out of 1000 contacts, 600 got synced, and 400 got skipped due to any error, order events sync will start for the 600 synced contacts.

You will be able to download and view the contacts that have been skipped during the sync because of errors. You will also get an email with a download link to the .csv file of skipped contacts. You can resolve the errors and re-upload them to the system. Learn how.

If some of the products are skipped during the sync, please reach out to our support team ([email protected]), and they will help you sync the skipped products.

What historical events will be synced?

The following historical events will be available after syncing existing Shopify customer records

  • Order fulfilled

  • Order canceled

  • Order refunded

  • Placed order

Events will be displayed in the contact’s timeline in chronological order. You can segment or use historical events as personalization tokens in Email, SMS, and WhatsApp.
