Using Freshdesk Contact Center, you can mask your business phone number and use different numbers to make outgoing calls. When you make an outgoing call, your customers will see the masked number as the caller id instead of the original phone number.
User Requirements: Only an admin or account admin have access to mask a number.
Log in to your Freshdesk Contact Center account.
Go to Admin Settings > Numbers. You can see the list of available numbers in your account. If you do not have any number, you can purchase a new number using the Buy New Number option.
Hover over the number you want to mask and click on the edit icon. You will see the Number Properties tab.
Toggle the Mask Number option.
Select the caller ID to use for masking. To create a new caller ID, click on the New Caller ID option.
In the pop-up screen that appears, enter the phone number you want to use for masking (with the country code), and then click Verify.
For verification, you will receive a call on the number entered. Answer the call and enter 6 digit validation code displayed on your screen.
Once the verification code is validated, the number will be visible for you to use as the caller id. Select the number and click on Save Changes.
Henceforth, whenever you make an outgoing call, your customers will see the caller id instead of your business phone number.
