Freshchat offers options for you to stay GDPR compliant while using Freshchat.


Opt-out of tracking tools:

If your customers do not want to be tracked via the Freshmarketer tools (which you can use to build and send emails, SMSes, and WhatsApp messages — learn more here) present in Freshchat, please redirect them to 
Opt-out page of Freshmarketer to stop all tracking requests.


Removing your customer data:

You can carry out your customer requests to be forgotten or for deletion of their data in your systems.

  • Log in to your Freshchat account and click Contacts & Accounts from the left navigation pane and click Contacts



Here, you can see the list of your Contacts. You can choose to Delete or Forget each of these contacts.

  • Delete: Moves the contact to the Recycle Bin, where contacts will be deleted automatically after 30 days unless you delete it from the Bin.


  • Forget: Directly removes the contact from your account, bypassing the Recycle Bin.


Note: You can access the Recycle Bin by clicking the menu icon to the left of Contacts and filtering by Recycle Bin.
