Salespeople use social media as channel find prospects and connect with them. To ensure your CRM has all the needed social media information for each prospect, Freshsales can automatically fetch details from publicly available information. However, this can also be done manually. Here's how:

  1. Open a contact record.

  2. Fill in the URLs of your contact's social media profile in the respective fields. For example, when adding a contact, add their Facebook username if they have one. If the Facebook URL is “https://facebook.com/johanbotha” enter johanbotha. Freshsales will automatically link their Facebook profile to the contact record.

    You may also enter the entire URL “https://www.facebook.com/johanbotha” while adding or creating contacts. Freshsales will link to their social media pages automatically.


If added correctly, the profile will be hyperlinked and will allow you to the social profiles of your contact with a click.


Note: If a social media field is marked “unique”, CRM cannot check for uniqueness between a URL and a profile name/ handle name. For example, “https://facebook.com/johanbotha” and “johanbotha” will be treated as 2 unique values and not as duplicates even though clicking on both will redirect to the same profile.
