While connecting your mailbox with Freshsales, it is important to be aware of the provider’s incoming server settings (IMAP) and outgoing server settings (SMTP). These values can usually be obtained by checking with the IT team of your organization.  

Else, you can follow these steps to find them in your email client:

  1. For Exchange Mailbox users (On-premise mailbox):
    If you use an Exchange mailbox, follow these steps (If you aren’t sure if you’re using Outlook) follow these steps to find your settings

    1. Sign in to your account using Outlook Web App.

    2. In Outlook Web App, on the toolbar, select Settings > Mail > POP and IMAP.

    3. The POP3, IMAP4, and SMTP server name and other settings you may need to enter are listed on the POP and IMAP settings page.

  1. For Outlook mail users: 

    1. Go to Outlook Mail page and log in.

    2. Click the settings  icon on the top right corner. This opens the Outlook Settings section. 

    3. Search for IMAP in the settings search bar and open POP and IMAP settings

      1. If IMAP is enabled: For accounts that have already been IMAP enabled, the IMAP settings like looks are displayed.

      2. If IMAP is disabled: For accounts that do not have IMAP enabled, the IMAP settings like looks are displayed

  2. For Mac desktop users (Apple Mail)

    1. Open Mail on your Mac desktop(or Macbook).

    2. Click Mail on the toolbar and select Preferences from the dropdown menu. 

    3. In the left sidebar, select the account you want to connect to Freshsales.

    4. Click Account Information and find the field for Incoming Mail Server. This value is your IMAP server name.

    5. Find the fields for Incoming server and Outgoing server. The longer text box is the server name and the text box towards the right is the port. Use this information when setting up your connected inbox in Freshsales.

  3. For users who use Outlook on Windows PC

    1. In Outlook, click File. Then navigate to Account Settings > Account Settings. This takes you to Email tab.

    2. Double-click the account you wish to connect with Freshsales. This opens server information.

    3. Underneath Server Information, you can find your incoming mail server (IMAP) and outgoing mail server (SMTP) names.

    4. To find the ports for each server, click More settings > Advanced. 

Note:
1) Freshsales uses Modern Authentication to connect your mailbox.
2) Select Outlook for personal accounts (email ending with outlook.com, hotmail.com, live.com, and official accounts)
3) Please make sure Exchange Web Services are enabled in your Outloo account.
