As per the CAN-SPAM act, every email you send should have an easier way for the recipient to unsubscribe. We provide an option for including the unsubscribe link using the editor.
Types of unsubscribing:
- Unsubscribe from the current list - This will unsubscribe the contact from the current list alone.
- Unsubscribe from all emails - This will unsubscribe the contact from all the lists.
Once a user opts to unsubscribe, he will no longer receive emails from the configured list. But, the contact information will be retained in Freshmarketer.
The unsubscribe links can be embedded in a custom text of your email as well. For example, if you have an option on your email saying ‘click here to unsubscribe’, you can make the text as a link for user unsubscribing, using the special links option we have on the editor. Choose the text and click the Special links => Manage subscription.
If both of the unsubscribe links are not added in the email, we will be adding the unsubscribe link on the footer of your email by default.
Once the user unsubscribes using the link from your email, a feedback message will be shown to the user like below.
A contact can also be opted out within a list. Click on the three dots on the right corner of a contact and choose to opt out.
The opted out contact will be excluded from the current list but will be available on the other lists and on All contacts.
