Session Replay provides you an option to filter visitor sessions based on your requirement. It gives you a variety of options to filter visitor’s sessions and it even allows you to give multiple inputs at once based on your requirements. 

Session Replay Filters

You can filter visitor sessions based on the following inputs.


Recorded Date

Date when the session was captured

Landing Page 

The page from which the user initiated the session.

Exit Page 

The page from which the user exited the session.

Referral Page  

From which web page user session has been referred.

Page Visited 

Web pages visited by the user eg: Homepage, Blog page.

Session Length

How long the sessions are captured  eg: 1 minute, 2 minutes.

Location  

Based on visitor's location eg: USA, UK, INDIA.

Medium  

Based on the medium visitor has visited the tested page.

Device Type 

Based on a visitor's device type eg: Desktop, Tablet, Mobile.

Browser   

From what browsers users sessions occurred  eg: Chrome, Firefox, Safari.

Operating System

From which operating system sessions occurred eg: Windows, Mac, Linux.

Number of Pages

How many web pages the user accessed in a session.

Activity Score

How many activities happened in the session eg: keystrokes, mouse clicks.

Visitors Type

Sessions initiated by the new visitor, returning visitor.


Match Types

The following are the match types that can be used along with the inputs to form conditions, 


AND

Results will be displayed only if all the filters conditions match 

For eg; Date from Feb 1 to Feb 5 and Device type is Computer: This will result in sessions created between Feb 1 to Feb 5 from the device type Computer.

OR

Results will be displayed if any of the filters conditions matches 

For eg; Date from Feb 1 to Feb 5 and Device type is Computer: This will result in sessions created between Feb 1 to Feb 5 as well as from the device type Computer.



Note: You can “Reset” all selected filters by using the “Clear all” option at the top right-hand side. You can find the session replay filter option at the top right-hand side of the sessions list. By clicking on the funnel icon, the widget for the filters will be opened. 



Session Replay gives you predefined options to filter sessions that recorded on -  Today, Yesterday, Last 7 Days, Last 15 Days, Last 30 Days. You can filter sessions that happened only on the specified dates by choosing the custom date range in the “Recorded Date” filter by selecting FROM and TO dates.


Filter sessions based on Locations

You can filter visitor’s sessions based on the user’s location such as City, Region & Country. It will let you know how many visitor sessions captured for the specified location. You can give multiple locations as well. Click on the filter and then specify the locations that would like to filter. 


Filter sessions based on Medium

You can filter visitor’s sessions based on mediums such as Paid, Organic, Email, Social, Direct visitors. It will be quite useful when you would like filter sessions based on ad campaigns, Organic, etc..



Filter sessions based on Browser

You can filter sessions based on browsers. To filter sessions based on the browser, choose your desired browser from the provided options. You can choose more than one browser as well to list sessions that happened on those browsers. Your web application provides you the following options under browser: Internet Explorer, IE Mobile, Safari, Chrome, Chrome Mobile, Firefox, Flock, Konqueror. If your browser doesn’t come under any of these then choose “UNKNOWN” from the option.


Filter sessions based on Device Type

You will be able to filter session based on Device Type such as Computer, Mobile & Tablet. Choose your device type from the list to filter sessions accordingly. 

Filter sessions based on Operating system

To filter visitor’s session based on the Operating system, choose your desired Operating system from the Option, sessions accessed from the Operating system alone will be listed. Your web application provides you the following operating systems Windows, MAC OS, Linux, Chrome OS, XBOX OS, Android, IOS, Symbian OS, BlackBerry OS. If your OS doesn’t come under any of this, then you can choose “UNKNOWN”.


 Filter sessions based on the visitor’s type

You can filter visitor’s sessions based on user type as well such as “All Visitors”, “New Visitors” & “Returning Visitors”. If you would like to track only returning visitors then choose “Returning” from the options.


How long is Session Replay data retained on the application?

Session Replay data collected from experiments will be retained on our servers for 90 days.
